Schedule
The 2008 Annual Convention of the CCSB will take place June 30th through July 2nd in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Festivities begin on the evening of June 30th with a traditional lobster dinner at the host church, Community Baptist. e-quip leadership training will be from 9am to noon Tuesday, July 1st, again at Community Baptist. The opening session of the convention and the Global Celebration will begin Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. on the University of PEI campus. Tuesday evening the convention will move to a local park for a picnic at 6 p.m. This will be followed by a time of worship and a message from the CCSB president. All are welcome to stay at the park and enjoy Canada Day fireworks at 10 p.m. The remaining convention sessions will be held on the university campus: Wednesday 9 am to noon, 2pm to 4pm. The final session will be from 6:30pm to 9pm.

About the speaker
Geoff Hammond is the President of the North American Mission Board. Geoff was born in Ogbomosho, Nigeria to missionary parents and raised in Zimbabwe where he completed the equivalent of an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He is a graduate of Spurgeon’s Seminary in London, and received a Doctorate of Ministry Degrees in Evangelism and Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Geoff served on staff at First Baptist Church of Dallas and served as a church planter in Lewisville, Texas. He was appointed an International Mission Board Missionary to Recife, Brazil in 1990, and was Professor of missiology in Church Planting at the North Brazil Baptist Theological Seminary and assisted in church planting with the Pernambuco Baptist State Convention. He was a Director of Missions for the Washington Madison Baptist Association in Northwest Arkansas before becoming a Church Planting Strategist with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia, and was Minister of Global Missions of First Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2002 he became the Senior Associate Director of the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia where he served until he was called to be the President of the North American Mission Board.
